Tourist arrivals up as Myanmar is
peaceful and tranquil Myanmar warmly welcomes
tourists and makes them happy

Myanmar is a country blessed with basic requirements for
promoting all categories of Tourism. Tourism industry is
gaining momentum day by day as the government has been
providing support for development of Tourism industry.
Since the government has designated international airports
and ocean-going ship harbours as the entrances,tourists can
visit Myanmar easily. Through these channels tourists are
visiting Myanmar by chartered flights as well as cruise tour
programmes. Under the arrangement of Myanmar Lotus Asia tour
company .Italian tourists are arriving Myanmar every
Thursday via Milan-Yangon-Phuket regular chartered flight,
On 20 February ,36 touristsfrom Milan arrived Yangon. All of
them are members of Electrolux Group of Italy and they are
coming to Myanmar with the arrangement of Myanmar Lotus Asia
and assistance of Myanmar Tourism Service of the Ministry of
Hotels and Tourism.
We met the group on its arrival at the Sedona Hotel and
interviewed some of them. Miss Soldat Tiziana,leader of the
tour group said that it was her 4th visit to Myanmar. She
said she was very happy to visit Myanmar. She likes Myanmar
people's friendliness and hospitality Myanmar traditions and
culture she has experienced are natural and
unforgettable. Nationalities in Myanmar are simple and
frank. She has been to Inlay region in Shan state. The
people there are charming. As she has read about the Naga
Festival or MRTV-3 website and in The New Light of Myanmar,
she decided to join the festival next year. Myanmar Tourism
Service provided assistance to tourists in everything.
She is glad because the group received warm welcome. Mr
Rinaldi Nicola, who is the owner of Electrolux Company, said
that he has a factory that is manufacturing food items and
articles used in hotels in Italy. His friends who had been
to Myanmar told him about beautiful and interesting places;
calmness land delight they gained when they visited pagodas;
easy and secure transportation; friendly, frank and honest
faces of the people and peaceful situation free from
hindrance and danger in Myanmar, This aroused him to come to
this country, he said, When they arrived Yangon
International Airport they were given special treatment and
found the sweet smiles described by his friends and he was
happy immedieately on his arrival.As he is a businessman he
would like to do business and invest in Myanmar as soon as
arrived.He will study feasibility of doing business while he
is in Myanmar,he said.The group will visit Yangon,
Bago,'Bagan- Nyaung U and Mandalay during the one-week tour
programme in Myanmar.
